Usually this carnivorous insect group is the largest in number (the number of species: 8,800).
Their feeding:
the larvae and the imagos are both carnivorous and herbivorous.
Their activity: they may sting, bite or issue formic acid.
Ants are normally reddish brown or black in colour, but some are light yellow. The wingless females (workers) are the ones most frequently observed. The adult females (queens) and males both have wings. The most common ant is the Lasius Niger (black ant). Large groups of these winged insects appear in late summer
Both the spray and the powder are recommended for controlling ants. A thin layer of powder should be spread directly on concealed insects and around insect migration trails. Application may be repeated every two to three weeks as needed. Apply 5-10g of powder per m2. The powder may be used in warehouses, basements, in other rooms and in gardens. The spray, which is recommended for use in living spaces, dries with no residue and can be applied to vertical surfaces. It is both colourless and odourless and is recommended for less permeable surfaces such as linoleum, tile and painted surfaces. It remains effective for several weeks unless the treated surface is washed.
